President Obama recently signed an omnibus bill that included, among many things, changes to tax code section 831(b). The changes include, but are not limited to, ownership restrictions for this election as well as raising the annual premium limit from $1.2 million a year to $2.2 million a year.

The changes become effective January 1, 2017. This provides you and your clients with enough time to understand the new law and make any necessary adjustments.
